Experienced Rider Course (ERC)
The Experienced rider course (ERC) is for the person who has been riding for approximately
one year or longer. Riders will generally develop bad habits over time and the ERC
helps to put the rider back on track as well as fortify their riding skills.
Participants of the ERC use their own motorcycle on a variety of exercises that
make up this 5-hour course. An MSF ERC completion card is presented at the conclusion.
The ERC is offered on a monthly basis from March through October. Tuition is $80.00
per person. Call for dates and times.
Requirements:
- Students must be prompt and on time.
- Students must provide current vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
- Motorcycles being used during the ERC must pass a safety inspection
that covers tires and wheels, lights and electrics, brake and suspension components
and the overall road-worthiness of the machine.
Required riding gear while participating in the ERC:
- You must provide your own helmet. ¾ or full face helmets permitted.
No ½ helmets allowed.
- Protective eyewear. Your eyes must be protected when riding, especially
if you are wearing a ¾ face helmet. If you wear prescription lenses, that is fine,
as you will be riding no more than 20 miles an hour at times.
- Full fingered gloves.
- Long-sleeve shirt and/or jacket.
- Long pants with no rips or tears.
- Over the ankle boots. Hiking boots are allowed provided that the laces
can be tucked in. Cowboy boots are fine provided that they do not have leather soles.
